Reflections
Over the years, one thing I’ve come to understand about God is that He is intentional in the way He dispenses His gifts. Whether spiritual, material, or financial, God never gives randomly—He gifts with purpose. As one preacher put it, “God is a God-centered God; He is committed to His plans, first and foremost.” Every gift we receive is ultimately meant to fulfill His kingdom agenda. This is why it’s so important to remember that we are stewards, not owners. Whatever we’ve been given is to be used in service of the One who gave it. So after we thank God for a blessing, our next question should be: “Lord, why have You given this to me?”
Yes, God rewards His children—but it’s never just about the reward. As Jesus said in Matthew 13:12, “To the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance.” God multiplies gifts in the hands of those who understand their purpose and are ready to use the gifts for their purpose. People often ask why unbelievers seem to prosper more than believers. The truth is, spiritual principles work regardless of who applies them. God is eager to bless those who are eager to give and by so doing, further His plans, and the enemy, too, empowers people who will further his agenda. The key difference is purpose. To experience God’s generous rewards, we must first become generous givers—committed to using every blessing to advance His will.
