Reflections
Have you ever seen a pastor preach four sermons in one day or travel to six different places in a week? Or a doctor who spends 24 hours in the operating room and is still eager to continue? What fuels them? Jesus reveals the secret here. In John 4:6, even Jesus—the one who offers rest—was so tired that He needed to sit at the well. The Bread of Life was so hungry that He required His disciples to buy food. Yet, at the prospect of a soul being saved, He was re-energized. Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete his work” (John 4:34 NET). There is no greater satisfaction than fulfilling the work God has called you to do. When you're walking in purpose, strength and motivation flow without struggle.
Jesus is the one who empowers those He sends. In John 4:35, He said, “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’?” For most people, there may be a sense of waiting or thinking there’s plenty of time, but for someone on a mission from God, there’s a deep sense of urgency. There’s no time to waste—you dive right into action. Being in your purpose not only strengthens you, but it also provides clarity, direction, and focus.
