Reflections
The Father's dwelling place is now within you—rejoice! This is truly good news. When Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us in the Father's house, what did He mean? In the beginning, Adam had a place of fellowship with God, a sacred dwelling where he communed with his Creator. However, sin severed that connection, banishing humanity from God's presence. Now, through Jesus, that fellowship has been restored but in an even greater way. We are no longer limited to a physical location to encounter God. Instead, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we have direct and constant access to Him.
John 14:17 reveals this transformative truth: the Holy Spirit now resides with us and within us. What does this mean for us? Jesus explained that the evidence of the Father dwelling in Him was the miraculous works He performed. Likewise, because the same Spirit now dwells in us, we are empowered to do even greater works. Jesus walked in this reality, fully aware of the power within Him. If we, too, grasp and believe this truth, we can step into the fullness of the Spirit’s power at work in us.
