Reflections
It takes a great deal of effort and a diverse group of people to keep the church running effectively. The propagation of the gospel requires laborers, servants, and sponsors, each playing a vital role in advancing God’s kingdom. If Paul could remember each person and took the time to recognize and appreciate the contributions of individuals in the early church, how much more does God, who sees all things? Do not be discouraged—God is faithful and will surely reward those who serve Him.
The church is a unique place where people of all demographics, backgrounds, and social standings come together with a shared purpose. It is both a unifier and a leveler. Phoebe’s wealth did not exempt her from serving others. Junia, though a woman, was highly regarded for her apostolic ministry. Narcissus, though a slave, was recognized for his faith. Rufus, a black man from Cyrene, served alongside Jews and Greeks together. In God’s house, earthly distinctions fade away, and what remains is our collective commitment to His mission.
Every believer has something valuable to contribute, and the church thrives when each person embraces their role. If you are not actively serving in your local church, let this be a reminder to step forward and take up a responsibility today. Your service matters, and God, the ultimate rewarder, sees and honors your faithfulness.

Highlight
“I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.” Romans 16:17-18 ESV
